Custom rods are just that—custom-its yours and built to your specifications and desires, and, designed for maximum performance for the target application. I will work with you to get the options that you are looking for. A custom rod can cost anywhere from $75 to well over $500 depending upon components and “extras” you want to have. As a general rule, pricing for a “basic” rod with preformed grips (cork or EVA) and single thread color with trim bands, is the retail cost of the components plus $80 labor, North Carolina sales tax, Federal Excise Tax (Max. of $10) and shipping costs (if applicable). |

Guides and Tip-Top: Highest quality guides from today’s leading manufacturers are used. As we talk through the design of your rod, we will match the best guides suited for your particular application. I believe in using the smallest and lightest guides to match the technique and application for a given rod. Guides can have traditional placement or spiral wrapped on custom casting rods—no difference in costs. See the Components page for a discussion on guides. Guide and trim wraps: All guide and trim bands are done by hand. Premium thread and finish is used for all guides, trim bands and thread work. You specify the colors you want to use—match your boat, car, Alma Mater, or any of your other favorite colors. |

Personalization Each custom built rod from WeaverCraft Custom Fishing Tackle is customized with the owner’s name and build date. Additional decals, pictures and messages can be added for a nominal fee of $5 to $10. |

Grips Premium natural and burl cork as well as EVA foam are used for grips. Grips can be upgraded to custom made and shaped using natural cork, colored burl and EVA in full or split configurations with custom cork inlays. There are also custom handles that can be used. See the Components page for a discussion on each of these materials. |

Reel Seats The highest quality deluxe reel seats are used on all rods. For applications that require a “sensitive touch”, blank through reel seats can be specified for sensitive applications so that you have a finger resting directly on the blank. I also offer skeleton reel seats for weight reduction and better contact with the blank, exotic woods and twill. |
